Every month TCM DJ Events owner gets to spin whatever she wants at the swanky Mr. Purple NYC in the LES. DJ Nicole Otero has been spinning the NYC nightlife scene since 2000. With residencies like APT in the meatpacking district and SubMercer in Soho, posh lounges are nothing new to her. As a female DJ in the NYC nightlife, it’s always nice to have a residency at a venue with a great vibe and city views.
This latest gig on April 1st was particularly hot and luckily Nicole recorded her set. Below is a link to an early set before her girl DJ Jenn Love got on the decks. The crowd at Mr. Purple likes to hear a bit of everything so you can expect hearing some disco, latin, house, hip hop and some classics.
This DJ set is a bit of disco and latin top 40 vibes. Nicole will later post her old school house set from the later part of the night. Nicole’s roots are with deep house which is what most of her vinyl record selection is.
