You may be thinking to yourself, there is no way guests want to show up to a micro wedding during this pandemic let alone my wedding. WRONG! People are so excited at the thought of doing anything normal and really appreciate the experience of any normalcy in their lives like attending a wedding!
Music is an essential part of your micro wedding regardless of size
Another thought you might have is, well, if my wedding has to be 50 people or less with no dancing allowed then there is no need for music. WRONG again! I DJ’d my first wedding during the pandemic on July 19th, 2020 at Marina Del Rey in the Bronx. Let me tell you, it was a hit! It was outdoors overlooking the river and the Throgs Neck bridge. The breeze and the view were delightful. People were sitting at their tables loving the music and singing along to the songs. A couple of people got up to dance a few times but everyone was respectful that they couldn’t all gather on the dance floor for safety precautions. The best part was when a friend of the bride & groom surprised the guests with a Mariachi band! So there was more singing along (with masks on) which just raised the vibration of the evening to all new heights. I tell you, I never had so much fun DJing a dance free wedding.
You still need a DJ to MC and navigate special moments
Another thought you might have is, my wedding is only a sit down dinner for a couple of hours so why would I need a DJ for that? Well, even if your micro wedding is only going to be for 2 hours, guess what? You may still want to do an entrance into a first dance or even parent dances after that. You may also need an MC to help with toasts. Last, you will still appreciate a DJ playing your favorite music live during those perfect moments. You see, a DJ is doing more than just playing a playlist you helped curate.
