Are you newly engaged? Well then I know you are thinking about what your first dance song is going to be at your wedding! Besides the song you walk down the aisle to, your first dance song is the next most important one. That’s why I decided to compile our top 100 first dance songs that we have played at real weddings. Picking out your first dance song can be tricky. Perhaps you and your beloved already have a song. If that’s the case, picking out a first dance song shouldn’t be hard for you. For everyone else though this can seem like an intimidating task. Especially if you both have very different taste in music! Therefore, I have a few tips for you on your quest for that perfect first dance song.
First Dance Song Tip #1
My first tip is to see if you both have a favorite movie in common. Movies usually have a soundtrack to them and this can be a really helpful resource for you. You can think of a scene of the movie that corresponds with that oh so familiar song. Super easy!
First Dance Song Tip #2
My second tip is to use Shazam. Shazam is a phone app that can listen to music and tell you the name and artist. This way whenever you are out with your hubby and you hear a good song you can Shazam it! The Shazam app will save all of your listens to the library so you can refer to your songs later on.
First Dance Song Tip #3
My final tip for finding your perfect first dance song is to think of your favorite high school bands. It’s during our High School years that we fall in love with the music that will define us for the rest of our adult lives. If you take a little time to reflect on those years you might just remember the best song ever for your first dance song choice. Subsequently, you just might have the best time going down memory lane.
