3 THINGS TO ORGANIZE YOUR WEDDING DAY

  • Formalities
  • Music selection for ceremony, cocktail & reception
  • Timeline.

Before I get into the music selection aspect it’s important to remember that you will probably partake in at least one or two formalities.  If you don’t know what I am talking about, formalities are things like your first dance, parent introductions, bridal party introductions etc. And guess what?  You need to pick out music for these special moments too.  If these seems overwhelming to think about, no worries I have you covered.  You can download my #1 tool to organize your music, timeline and formalities here

Picking out wedding music can be a daunting task.  For example, some couples find it super fun since they already know what they like.  On the other hand, some couples find the idea of listening to music for their special day super stressful.  So what would be the best approach for everyone?  The answer is playlists.

It’s important to understand that you want to keep the music upbeat on your wedding day.  After all, your guests are going to be consuming an exorbitant amount food.  Which means that they will fall into a food coma at some point of the evening.  That doesn’t mean you can’t include classic slow jams but they shouldn’t dominate the night.

Another thing to think about is what would make you happy to hear on your special day.  Are there songs that have sentimental value to you and your significant other?  What about those sing along bar tunes you and your buddies love?  Include those on your playlist.  The right DJ will know exactly when to drop these tracks.  Therefore, don’t feel like you have to hold back on any of your music choices.

In conclusion, don’t be afraid to ask your guests for songs that they like.  It doesn’t mean you have to choose them if you don’t like them.  The truth is though, that your guests are more likely to want to get on the dance floor if they feel like they had some input on the music selection.  Above remember this.   You can always share a Spotify playlist with select friends to collaborate on your playlist too!
