Wedding inspiration for your holiday themed wedding
The holidays are such an exciting time of year even if we are in the middle of a pandemic. As an NYC based DJ agency we have done 8 weddings through quarantine so far and know we will continue to service weddings and events through the holiday season. Whether you choose holiday color schemes or choose a holiday menu option the possibilities are really endless. That’s why planning a holiday wedding is so much fun! Below you can read our top 5 holiday wedding ideas to give you some inspiration.
1. Christmas or Thanksgiving Table Decorations
When it comes to picking your color schemes for your holiday wedding, table decorations are top priority. If you are having a November wedding pumpkins and fall colors are a must. You can use these colors for a rustic wedding or a more classic style. If your wedding is in December then go for Christmas or Hanukkah themed table decorations all the way!
2. Holiday Music
Did you know the best jazz arrangements ever written are Christmas ones? No wonder why they are played non stop during the holidays! Even if you aren’t into jazz and would rather hear your favorite George Michael cover or Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas” hit. There is no better way to celebrate your holiday wedding than incorporating holiday music. So don’t forget to request your favorite holiday tunes from your DJ. Below you can hear our curated holiday playlist we made just for you!
3. Seasonal Cocktails & Warm Holiday Drinks
I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me happier than a hot and sweet holiday drink. Apple cider is divine with or without alcohol. A Christmas punch with alcohol for adults and without for the kids also fits the bill. Spiced Chai and pumpkin lattes for dessert. Or you could choose a holiday sangria for cocktails and a boozy hot chocolate. Not to mention, warm holiday drinks are a nice complement for an outdoor wedding since many are choosing this option during quarantine.
4. Winter Wonderland Theme
Nothing says the holidays like snowflakes and icicles. We did a wedding once where the theme was the Titanic. The bride was an iceberg and the groom was the ship. The bride’s dress and the groom’s suit reflected this theme. So imagine adding your favorite movie holiday theme to your winter wonderland scheme. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a winter wonderland look for your wedding.
5. Red & White Color Themes
Contrast is always a good look. Especially when you pick red and white. Not only does this color combination scream Christmas but it opens up so many possibilities. From your party invitations, to your bridesmaid dresses not to mention your floral options. You could also have a red and white wedding cake. When it comes to holiday wedding ideas, red and white color themes are a win!
